At an early age, Ben’s love of photography was fostered by his Father who was also an avid photographer. A native of South Carolina, Ben studied photography while in college and was an active member of his high school and college newspaper and yearbook staffs. This Dean’s List Recipient graduated with honors from Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Marketing with a dual concentration in Public Communications. He is also a Member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. While in college, Ben interned for the Marketing Department at South Carolina Educational Television, (SCETV) and immediately upon graduating from college went to work for IBM Corporation. He later work for the Hewlett Packard Company where he spent 12 years in various key capacities and did corporate stints at Siemens and Bomgar Corporations.
Ben’s work has appeared in a number of local and national publications, online media outlets and television shows to include: Atlanta Magazine, Atlanta Social Season Magazine, Sister 2 Sister Magazine, Sheen Magazine, Trendsetter To Trendsetter Magazine, Xtra Magazine, The Atlanta Journal and Constitution Newspaper, The Chattanooga Times Free Press, The Rome News-Tribune, The South Carolina News and Press, Essence Magazine.com, Access Atlanta.com, BlackVoices.com, BlogTalkRadio.com, The Peach Buzz, MTV Teen Cribs, The Real Housewives of Atlanta and numerous blog sites. Ben has also served as a Photographer for The Dekalb County Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Contributing Photographer for Atlanta Social Season Magazine, Sheen Magazine, Xtra Magazine and presently photographs for Atlanta Magazine.
Ben is also committed to giving back and is a community partner. He is heavily involved in the community in which he lives. He Co-Founded along with is Wife The Children’s Pride Foundation, an Atlanta based non-profit organization founded to empower youth, while promoting cultural diversity, mentor ship and encouraging volunteerism in the community. The organization advances this mission by enriching the lives of children, single parents and needy families by providing assistance in the form of clothing items, school supplies and food around the holidays. The Foundation also exposes youth to cultural events, motivate and encourage kids & teens to stay in school and continue their education beyond the high school level. Ben also sat on the board of Kym Kares Foundation, another Atlanta based non-profit organization dedicated to providing financial, emotional, medical and residential support and mentoring to low income families and single parents.
This 26-year resident of Atlanta was Voted 2010 “Best Family Photographer” in Atlanta by Gannett Corporations, MomsLikeMe.com and has won numerous photography awards and competitions. He is married to Monique B. Evans, Founder of The Children’s Pride Foundation. The couple has two sons, Ethan and Collier.
